Research paper Excerpt

Image
For this research paper we read an article by Sara Song in class and wrote about our opinion on sleep deprivation. I talked about my personal experience loosing sleep and other interesting facts about how we loose it and not even realize it. Depression, anxiety, and sleep have a complex relationship. The mix doesn’t only keep you up throughout the night but can actually make your conditions worse. Experts claim that depriving yourself from sleep “chips away at your happiness.” I for one have had and still am dealing with these conditions. In my experiences; I tend to overthink about anything and everything before I knock out. After reading this article I could relate to the symptoms. Personally I usually get about three to five hours of sleep a night; getting up in the morning I usually feel like a zombie. One way to describe the feeling is lost and exhausted. Resulting in me laying there for a good while before I get started with my day. Depression can also cause sleep

Two Truths and One Lie I’m a producer/rapper, produce my own work. Picked up and learned a beat software this summer. Created seven songs releasing two in the upcoming weeks. Made my room my own studio, with passion and a dream. Rapping fast is my flow, and I practice by rapping along to fast paced songs like catch me outside by Ski Mask the Slump God  or splash mountain by Yung Gravy. I create banging trap beats beats and rap over them, and release them on Soundcloud @Gonzo   . My favorite rappers are Yung Gravy, XXXTentacion, Ski Mask the Slump God, and Lil boat. I’m also one of the only people that have a picture with Yung Gravy. I'm a student fresh out of high school. Graduated from Calipatria High School, and played on the football team for Mr. Swarngn. Was also on the swim team, where I got the nickname Big Boat. Kept B’s and C’s throughout those four years of torture. I keep to myself a lot, all I really need is some headphones and base. I love music and computers

X-rated X-rays

Isaac Gonzalez Mr. Lewenstein ENGL 008 20 October 2017 In the article “Airport Screener Could See X-rated X-rays,” Joe Sharkey talks about different sides of the scanning. On one side people are for the safety and no more full body searches that outraged the public. A small price to pay to ensure their safety. On the other hand people against the fact you can see everything. Head of security even stated, “I have a beautiful 29-year-old daughter and a beautiful wife, and I don't want some screeners to be looking at them through their clothes.” Since the attack on the twin towers in 2001; also known as 9/11, national security has stepped up their game to help prevent the loss of more lives. New x-ray scanners can not only see what you have on your person but can see a 3D model of the person, and they can see everything. These scanners can ensure the safety of passengers on the plane. This is also another way around the full body searches that outraged the public in Decem

Proposition 64

Isaac Gonzalez Mr. Lewenstein ENGL 008 7 November 2017 Proposition 64 The legalization of marijuana has been controversial because it's classification as an illegal drug. Since last November in 2016, the conversation about marijuana use has been fired up around the country. Will it cause more problems for society or would it change for the better? I think marijuana could not only help those in need of medical attention but can also help the economy with more open jobs and keep society safer from the dangers of the streets. Although marijuana can be useful for you, it also has its cons. Health risks and self-control can be some significant issues we might have to face shortly. Even with the growing glassblowing industry and new inventions to have something to smoke on the go can raise the problem of public use.    Legalizing marijuana might not be a bad thing because of all the positive feedback we would get from it. First off the opening up of more jobs. Right now in

Sleep: The Key to Life

Isaac Gonzalez Mr. Lewenstein ENGL 008 21 September 2017 Sleep: The Key to Life In “Sleeping your Way to the Top,” Sara Song argues, that any human no matter what age should achieve eight hours of sleep a night: to stay focused and alert throughout the day. According to her argument, Song claims that loss of sleep can show signs of dementia:which can result in someone suddenly not knowing where one is or can result in Microsleep. Scientist claim that these are little episodes of sleep because of lack of sleep. I agree with Song, those much needed eight hours are crucial to your day of learning and productivity. Although there is an unlimited amount of entertainment on social media; doesn’t mean that you should spend those few extra hours exploring the web before bed. Depression, anxiety, and sleep have a complex relationship. The mix doesn’t only keep you up throughout the night but can actually make your conditions worse. Experts claim that depriving yourself from sleep

Comic Strip

Image
Isaac Gonzalez Mr. Lewenstein EGL 008 1 September, 2017 Comic Strip Negan began his daily routine patrolling  around his camp of survivors, when a bullet came out of left field and broke a chunk off of Lucille. A bat wrapped in barbed wire was his instrument of choice to teach anyone who got out of line a lesson. The shot came from behind a wall, and the one behind the gun was Carol. The reason behind his attempt of scrambling Negan’s brain was the intense anger he had against him for breaking his father's spirit and taking “taxes” from his camp full of family and friends. This severely pissed off Negan, and he ordered his men to fire back. In result lots of rounds were shed because Negan's goons were like a private army, and they “taxed” any group they could terrorize. Therefore the squad ducked and waited out the gunfire so they can escape safely.

Music

Isaac Gonzalez Mr. Lewenstein ENGL 008 19 September 2017 Music Have you ever been in a bad mood, turned on some bangin tunes, and feel your problems melt? Music has always been something special to me; it’s helped me through many hard times especially this summer. I felt overwhelmed by the challenges to come and felt alone in the process. I’ve seen people make instrumentals, and it seemed interesting, so I gave it a try. After I graduated from Calipatria High, I picked up a producing software and got to work. Experimenting with the software day and night and studying its ins and outs took my mind off to a better place. After a couple of weeks of just making beats, I started to write the words that were floating around in my head.  I never thought that I would become a rapper or producer, but creating my own sound drowned out my constant sadness. After I graduated high school, I wasn’t prepared for any of the obstacles I was about to face. These feelings were eating me up
